Aigio is the biggest city in the area of Aigialeia and is only 15 minutes away from Diakofto.

Aigio is located in the north-west part of peloponnisos in Achaia. The city is divided in three levels, the coastal zone, the main city and the historical centre.

In the coastal zone you will find the historical plane of Pausania who had made reference to this plane in his works.

The museum of Aigio is located in the east side of the old market, with 6 chambers with many exhibits.

The church of Panagia Trypiti is built inside the rock over the city's port. The tradition referes that in 1650 a castway found a picture of Holy Mary which is considered miraculous.

In Aigio you will find many beaches, two of which have been awarded with Blue Flag:Alyki and Digeliotika. Also you can visit the beach of Valimitika and Temeni.
